Kin: four family histories was created as part of Edinburgh Medical School 300 in 2026. The exhibition is connected to the 300 Faces of Edinburgh Medical School campaign. It was developed by Lilia Foster, a history student and archival research intern and Jenny Durkin, an engagement and communications officer from the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

The audio and video recordings featured in the exhibition were created from interviews where family members were invited to reflect on their visits to Heritage Collections at the University of Edinburgh. Special thanks to Mercy Akman, Wendy Savage, Helen Zealley and Andrew Ivan Brown for sharing their experiences and insights with us and helping us to tell the story of their inspiring relatives.
